"You, opposition gentlemen, would be as interested in that same people and you would hear them just as much if you came to power," Dacic said.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic says that the opposition must finally understand that the people are looking for arguments, and not just them simply repeating that President Vucic should be gone, just so they can come to power.

"The opposition's practice of making noise and calling for riots is actually just manipulative action of somebody who has nothing smart to offer. You don't want a referendum, but you want Vucic to be gone? What are you afraid of? I guess of the fact a referendum is the most important institution of direct democracy in which citizens directly express their opinion and will.

And when those citizens increasingly distrust you, from one election to another, and show more and more support for the president, then of course you are afraid to hear their opinion. Not only that, but you don't care about their opinion. You, opposition gentlemen, would be as interested in that same people and you would hear them just as much if you came to power," Dacic said.
