Apart from Novi Pazar, there are active wildfires in Serbia near Bujanovac and Bor

A large forest fire that broke out on the Golija Mountain near Raska was not completely extinguished as of Thursday afternoon.

An area of over 20 hectares of low vegetation and around eight hectares of pine wood was affected.

"The whole area is covered in smoke, you can smell it. The Gradac Monastery is located near the site where the fire broke out. We are afraid that it will spread," locals told RINA.

All available crews were sent to the field, about 30 firefighters-rescuers were engaged in extinguishing the fire, and those from Novi Pazar were joined by colleagues from Kraljevo and Cacak, as well as members of voluntary fire brigades. Helicopters are also deployed.

Apart from Novi Pazar, there are active wildfires in Serbia near Bujanovac and Bor.
