Brnabic: Opposition making everything relative because of lithium, even the high-speed road to Loznica
Brnabic said that they discussed many important matters in the Assembly, above all those concerning caring for citizens and securing better standards
President of the Serbian National Assembly Ana Brnabic said today that the opposition claims, even when it comes to the construction of the high-speed road from Sabac to Loznica, that it is being built because of the lithium mine and pointed out that this project was a decades-long dream in that part of the country.
Brnabic said that they discussed many important matters in the Assembly, above all those concerning caring for citizens and securing better standards and living conditions in Serbia, namely building more highways and expressways, which is especially important for residents in Kragujevac, Sabac, and Loznica.
"The decades-long dream was to build a high-speed road to Loznica. Now that we are actually building it and the works are slowly coming to an end, you see that the opposition is making things relative again by saying that the high-speed road is probably being built because of the lithium mine," she told TV Prva.
Brnabic added that under the current government led by the SNS, the highway to Sabac has also been completed.
"Was that also done because of the lithium mine? I mean, this is nonsense. And that was one of the items on the agenda of this session (of the Assembly) and it has now been adopted so that we have funding for the bypass around Kragujevac and to complete works toward Loznica. Then there was a whole series of agreements, ratifications, contracts with those countries that stood with us when it was most difficult, when special integrity and courage was needed to vote in favor of Serbia," said Brnabic.
She stressed that, instead of thanking the countries that were with us in the UN General Assembly when a resolution on Srebrenica was presented, the opposition did not vote for that.
"And they belittled those countries, in the sense, what are we doing with Sao Tome and Principe. Well, a lot of things. Because they showed integrity and showed not only that they stand with Serbia, but also that they stand with international law," Brnabic said.
