Dragan Pavlicevic, who was wanted by Interpol on suspicion of smuggling narcotics and being a member of a criminal clan, was caught in Turkey, on a notice issued by Montenegro.
The Turkish interior minister announced that in the police operation, several persons from the Interpol red notice linked to drug smuggling got detained.
As stated by Minister Ali Yerlikaya, Pavlicevic and Alexander Gustafsson, who were wanted for crimes of fraud and drug trafficking, were caught in Istanbul, while Aleksandar Nedevski was detained in Bodrum.
"Gustafsson is wanted for drug trafficking, fraud, forging documents and money laundering. Sweden launched a search for him, while Pavlicevic is wanted on suspicion of smuggling narcotics and being a member of a criminal clan. Montenegro was looking for him. Both have been caught in Istanbul," said Minister Yerlikaya.
Pavlicevic was arrested on the outskirts of Istanbul on July 28.
The Interpol notice states that Pavlicevic smuggled 1,570 kilograms of cocaine together members of criminal organizations in Montenegro, Colombia, Ecuador, Australia and the Netherlands.
It is believed that he also smuggled around 900 kilograms of cocaine from Ecuador.
