Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric said in Rome that Serbia will remain a pillar of peace and stability in the region, but that, on the other hand, the support of the international community at the highest level is needed when it comes to normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina and implementation of agreements reached within the framework of the Brussels dialogue.

Addressing the academic community, diplomats, students and representatives of political life in Italy during a panel organized by the Italian Institute for International Affairs, Djuric pointed out the basic internal and foreign policy priorities of the new government of the Republic of Serbia.

He said he has the honor to, as minister of Foreign Affairs, be in Rome, because this year we are marking 145 years of our diplomatic relations (between Serbia and Italy), which is an extremely significant anniversary.

According to Djuric, further strengthening of the economy is placed high on the agenda of our country - the construction of new highways and railways, infrastructure, investments in the IT sector, digitization are the most important directions, stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Speaking about foreign policy goals, the head of Serbian diplomacy said that Serbia will be ready to become a full member of the EU by 2027. He also thanked Italy for supporting our country on its EU path.

Djuric was on a 2-day official visit to Italy, during which he spoke with Italian officials, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani.
