In a joint action by BIA and VBA (civilian and military intelligence agencies), and in cooperation with the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Valjevo, M.O. (37), D.L. (64) and D.M. (63) have been arrested - all three residents of the western Serbian city.

They are suspected of committing the crime of espionage.

It is suspected that some of them were handing over information to a company in North Macedonia whose owner is an Albanian. The board of directors of that company features many retired officers from Ukraine and the US, Telegraf has learned.

The suspects are former and current engineers working for the defense industry company Krusik from Valjevo - who committed the criminal offense by taking confidential business and technical documentation without authorization and handing it over to a foreign organization.

This damaged security, defense, military and other interests, and weakened the standing of the Republic of Serbia, the Interior Ministry (MUP) said in a statement.

By order of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Valjevo, the suspects have been detained for up to 48 hours and after that time they will be brought before the prosecutor along with a criminal complaint.
