The president of the National Assembly, Ana Brnabic, addressed the public.

"First of all, I want to thank people's deputy (MP) Djilas, for the press conference he held today (Wednesday). The man confirmed every word I said at my own press conference. Thank you, I did not expect such cooperation from the opposition. Given that he did not deny any of the things I said, except that Marko Blagojevic was his best man, but that he did sell the land to Rio Tinto. As for that denial, whether that is his best man or not, here I apologize if I was wrong... But they are the closest of collaborators," Brnabic said.

Djilas was a high ranking member of the formerly ruling in Serbia Democratic Party, while Blagojevic was Minister for Public Investment.

Brnabic repeated that Blagojevic, a close friend of Dragan Djilas, sold land in Loznica (a town in western Serbia) - 64 ares of forest and 2.62 hectares of field, to Rio Tinto in August 2021.

"I apologize if he is not actually his best man, truly from the bottom of my heart. But he did not deny that his close friend and associate sold the land to Rio Tinto for 717,000 euros - and then took part in the protests against that same Rio Tinto," stressed Brnabic.

And now, she added, they want to drive out Rio Tinto, to which they themselves sold land. "And (President) Vucic is the thief," Brnabic concluded ironically, continuing to list examples of sales of land plots.

"This is unprecedented political hypocrisy," the National Assembly president said.
