Vucic has phone conversation with Meloni: Italian and Serbian governments to meet in Belgrade summit
"We agreed to hold a summit of our two governments in Belgrade by the end of the year," wrote Vucic on Instagram
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic spoke by phone on Monday with Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni, about the geopolitical situation, the situation in the region, bilateral cooperation, as well as Serbia's EU path.
"We agreed to hold a summit of our two governments in Belgrade by the end of the year," wrote Vucic on the Instagram account "buducnostsrbijeav".
He reiterated that Serbia highly values cooperation with Italy, as one of the most important political and economic partners, and thanked Italy for the support it provides on the path to the EU.
"I thanked Giorgia Meloni for her friendship and Italian investments in Serbia, and we agreed to continue the conversation on Thursday at the Summit of the European Political Community in London," he said.
The prime minister of Italy particularly stressed her country's interest in preserving peace in the region, while activities related to EU expansion to the Western Balkans have also been proposed.
