President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic has congratulated President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian on his election to an important and responsible position and wished him success in performing the difficult duties ahead of him.

According to a post on the Instagram account "buducnostsrbijeav", the Serbian president spoke with the newly elected president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Pezeshkian.
"We discussed the current geopolitical situation, as well as the possibilities for deepening cooperation between our countries in areas of mutual interest. I thanked Iran for respecting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia," stated the Serbian president.
