Vucic after comments about mining in Serbia: Majdanpek would not exist if there were no mine
President Vucic spoke about many important topics
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic was last night a guest on TV Pink.
The president spoke about the threats addressed to his son Danilo Vucic, but also about other important topics.
Opposition politician Srdjan Skoro the day before mentioned the president and his family in the context of the mining issue.
"I think that both Vucic and his son could help in Majdanpek, Bor, or, God forbid, if a lithium mine were to be opened, go to work there hard, show by example that it is not harmful, take uranium showers," said Skoro.
"You talk about Majdanpek as the worst possible place, Majdanpek was built thanks to the mine, it wouldn't exist without the mine. Thanks to that mine and the investment we brought from China, we still have more than 30 percent of the Serbian share in our mine, and they paid a debt of 1.2 billion that was left behind. Both Bor and Majdanpek have a bright future and it will be nice and decent to live and work there," Vucic said, adding:
"Unfortunately, I'm not aware that we have uranium, I wish we did, because I see how much of it Russia is exporting and how important it is to them. We don't have uranium, but we do have lithium. The collective strength of the whole region depends on it, and that's why I am very happy."
Central bank bought 5 tons of gold
"On Friday, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) bought 5 tons of gold, worth 3.3 billion euros. For us, this adds to the financial safety we have already secured. We want to be safe even in the most difficult times, and that's why we will buy gold from any surplus money that we have. That is good news for the citizens. We now have 46.5 tons of gold, which adds to the financial security already achieved," said Vucic.
Elections in France
"You think suddenly in the last 14 days, the right in France declined. No, they won significantly more in the first round. In the final numbers, it looks very different, precisely because of the electoral system, not people changing their mind. I expect Macron and hope for his visit to our country during the summer. But, can you read the numbers? What is written on the table at the end is one thing, how it got there is another. Neither was this a debacle of the right, Le Pen, nor of Macron in the second round, but it's not worth explaining that now," the president said about the elections in France.
President Vucic also said last night that all procedures and responsibilities had been respected when it comes to the parade of Serbian cadets in Bosnia and Herzegovina and stressed that they could not have endangered anyone.
