Our reporter was standing in knee-high water

A Telegraf crew headed to the most critical part of Belgrade earlier this morning, which was said to be largely under water - namely, the suburban municipality of Rakovica.

Already while crossing from Petlovo Brdo (Hill) to Labudovo Brdo, the team got stuck in the water, and when they reached Rakovica, they encountered one of the most terrifying scenes after the storm.

A building, which is located on a flat plot of land, where all the water from the surrounding hills poured, in got flooded. The water is knee high, garages are flooded, cars are under water.

Utility company workers are cleaning the mud in the areas from which the water has receded.

Torrential flooding was reported throughout Belgrade. The heaviest rain clouds this morning were moving from western to eastern parts of Serbia, through the central region of Sumadija and Belgrade.

Temperatures are significantly lower today and hover around 20° Celsius, but it is still hot in the south-east of the country, where the highs are reaching up to 28°C.
