"Rivers" are flowing through Belgrade this morning! A horrific storm that hit the capital has caused problems throughout the city.

How severe the storm was is best seen in the videos taken by reporters, as well citizens who are publishing them on social networks.

The scenes are apocalyptic, and the torrents are sweeping everything along.

Many Belgraders cannot recall a morning like this in the capital.

Fortunately, there were no victims of the storm.

Traffic is blocked in most of the city.

Milenkovic: 15 trees removed

"Firefighters had 28 interventions from evening to morning in the territory of Belgrade," said the head of the Administration for Firefighting and Rescue Units, Milos Milenkovic.

He added that 93 firefighters and 33 vehicles were on the ground.

Most of the interventions were related to the removal of trees that fell in the storm (15), while in six cases firefighters had to put out fires caused by lightning strikes.

"In the territory of Zemun, we had two fires caused by lightning striking family homes, there were no injuries. There was material damage, but thanks to a timely reaction, the fires were quickly localized and extinguished," Milenkovic told RTS.

According to him, in Cukarica, lightning struck a substation, but once again thanks to a quick intervention electricity supply in this area of Belgrade was stabilized.
