Electricity supply collapse hits all of Montenegro, parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Albania
Dalmatia in Croatia and parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina are also without electricity
Almost the entire area of Montenegro was without electricity today due to network outages, the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System (CEDIS) has announced.
CEDIS said that the power went out due to an outage on the network of the Montenegrin Electric Transmission System (CGES).
The cause was initially unknown but later linked to the Ribarevine PG transmission line. Excessive electricity consumption is unofficially blamed for the unprecedented collapse that hit multiple countries in a domino effect.
Due to the electricity outage, people in Podgorica also have no water supply.
Parts of BiH and Dalmatia also affected
As reported by the regional media, Dalmatia in Croatia and part of Bosnia and Herzegovina are also without electricity.
Banja Luka, Prnjavor, Derventa, Laktasi, Sarajevo, Gorazde are all affected.
There is also no electricity in Split, Omis, Makarska, Dubrovnik and Zupa Dubrovacka, Kastela, Solin, Vodice, Prvic, Zadar, Starigrad Paklenica, as well as numerous islands in Croatia.
