The Council for National Security has approved Orlic's appointment as BIA director

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic has chaired a regular session of the Council for National Security, during which approval was given for the appointment of Vladimir Orlic as director of the Security intelligence Agency (BIA).

The session discussed the current security situation in the region with special reference to the situation in Serbia, the president's press service announced last night.

Vladimir Orlic has been a member of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) since 2008.

He was elected as deputy in the National Assembly in 2014, 2016, 2020, 2022 and 2023.

Orlic was president of the National Assembly from August 2022 until former Prime Minister Ana Brnabic took over earlier this year.
