The men's basketball team of Serbia, the current World Championships silver medalists, will represent our country at the Olympic Games which will be held in Lille and Paris in July and August.

Before the start of the preparations, the head coach of the Serbian national team, Svetislav Pesic, announced his list of 16 candidates for the squad.

They are: Vasilije Micic, Aleksej Pokusevski, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Nikola Jovic, Nikola Jokic, Vladimir Lucic, Marko Guduric, Vanja Marinkovic, Ognjen Dobric, Filip Petrusev, Nikola Milutinov, Dusan Ristic, Aleksa Avramovic, Ognjen Jaramaz, Dejan Davidovac and Uros Plasic.

The national team will start gathering on June 24, while optional practice sessions will begin a few days earlier. The first tests behind closed doors will take place on July 5 and 7 against the Netherlands and Turkey.

Serbian basketballers will play their first official friendly on July 12 against France in Lyon. Then there will be a trip to Abu Dhabi, where our team play against Australia on July 16 and the US a day later.

Then comes the return to Serbia and a game against Japan on July 21 in the Belgrade Arena.

The Serbian team will depart for France on July 24.
