The president of the National Assembly Serbia, Ana Brnabic, has spoken with Italian Ambassador Luca Gori about the importance of cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.
During the meeting, Brnabic stressed that bilateral cooperation has been developed in all areas, that relations are at the level of a strategic partnership, and that Italy is an important political and economic partner to Serbia.
She also said that she believes that the visit of a delegation of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Italian parliament's lower house, headed by Giulio Tremonti, will contribute to the improvement of future parliamentary cooperation, the Serbian Assembly has announced.
Ambassador Gori said that parliamentary cooperation has developed and represents a very important segment in bilateral cooperation that contributes both to overall relations and to Serbia's success on the EU path.
Brnabic stressed that Serbia is grateful for the support that Italy provides to our country on the way to full membership in the EU and that integration of the Western Balkans into the EU as soon as possible is a guarantee for prosperity and stability of both our region and Europe as a whole.
The interlocutors agreed that the second Italy-Serbia Business Forum was held successfully in Trieste last month, as well as that it further improved comprehensive bilateral cooperation between our countries, especially in the fields of economy, green transition and innovation, the Assembly said in a statement.
