The repair of roads destroyed in a storm that hit Novi Pazar is still ongoing. The open canal in the village of Lukocrijevo has been cleared and widened and connected by a 150-meter-long canal to the Raska River.

"The old culverts have beeen replaced with new concrete pipes of larger diameter, which significantly increased the flow capacity. All these measures were taken so that the locals would not be afraid of future rainfall," Dzenan Nurovic from the public company for land development told RINA.

In the village of Lukocrijevo, a stream also broke its banks for the first time in 50 years, yet more proof that the storm was unusually strong.

"The repair of roads in underway in Trnava as well. The public company's workers and those from others are in several locations in that part of the town," said Nurovic.

The water also washed away the road in the village of Sitnice. The workers are repairing this road which is the only way for the residents of the area to travel to the town.

The tarmac road in the village of Sitnice is completely closed, specifically at a bend leading to the village. Locals say that on May 21, the water swept away everything, and it was impossible to pass through in a car.

The public company's machines has been in the field for days, and the repair of this road is in progress. Locals say that the road is of great importance to them.

The works in this part of the town will continue until the residents have a passable road.

After the storm that hit Novi Pazar, the Tnavica Rover also overflowed, and in addition to the destroyed roads, waste also accumulated at a dam on the Trnava, with the clearing now in progress. Locals who live near the dam say that the reaction of the authorities was quick, the machinery arrived immediately, but the Trnavica is unpredictable.

Machines continued working on the river bed, but also on the roads in Trnava, which were washed away by the water. In Trnava, work is being done at several locations, considering that the settlement suffered the most damage during the storm on May 21.
