The construction of the national center will also start

On Wednesday, the Athletics Federation of Serbia signed two very important sponsorship contracts - with the insurance company Dunav Osiguranje, as well as with the city of Kraljevo, which has the necessary infrastructure to host all major domestic competitions in the coming period.

The signing of the agreement on cooperation was attended by President of the Athletics Federation of Serbia Veselin Jevrosimovic, member of the Executive Board of Dunav Osiguranje Milo Markovic, as well as Mayor of Kraljevo Predrag Terzic.

After the contracts were signed, Mr. Jevrosimovic revealed for Telegraf why this is an important moment for Serbian athletics.

"Dunav Osiguranje's support for Serbian athletics comes at the right time, especially since there is an extremely difficult competitive year ahead, the European Championships in Rome and the Olympic Games in Paris are coming up. Also, this year we are planning to start the construction of the Serbian National Athletics Center, and for that we are very grateful to the Government of Serbia, which made it possible for us to start the construction of such a prestigious facility on Belgrade's Ada Huja, which should definitely change the appearance of that part of the city."

He then spoke about the contracts themselves.

"Dunav Osiguranje is definitely the largest insurance company in Serbia and this is a real example of how a large company helps the development of Serbian athletics and athletics as a basic sport and a sport for a healthy lifestyle. When it comes to the city of Kraljevo, they have been investing in the development of athletics as a basic sport for many years. Kraljevo has become a very strong athletics center and this year all national championships will be held in Kraljevo."

Jevrosimovic stressed that our country for the first time has a chance to win more medals at the Olympic Games.

"For the first time we have a chance to win more medals, I can't speculate on how many. Athletics is an extremely difficult sport, weather conditions can literally change outcome, but I hope that after the Olympics we will celebrate the greatest success of Serbian athletics."

Finally, he emphasized that we can all learn something from track-and-field athletes.

"You know what, athletes should be giving advice to everyone, because I have to thank athletics for the way I am today, since it gives you something that no other sport can, which is fanatical persistence."
