Vucic: US should step up its engagement in order to preserve region's stability

President Aleksandar Vucic today spoke with US Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs Elizabeth Allen about pressures faced by Serbia and Serbs and asked the US to increase its engagement and use its influence in order to preserve the stability of the region.
"I pointed out to pressures faced by Serbia and the Serbs and asked the US to increase its engagement and use its influence in order to preserve the stability of the region and create preconditions for sincere cooperation and concrete progress of the region and all our citizens towards a better and more prosperous future," Vucic wrote on Instagram.
Vucic said that they also discussed regional and geopolitical issues, as well as the strengthening of bilateral relations between Serbia and the US.
"A good and useful conversation with US State Department Undersecretary Allen about regional and geopolitical issues, as well as about strengthening bilateral relations between Serbia and the US. We discussed the possibilities for expanding cooperation between Serbia and the US in the field of culture and education, especially different types of scholarship programs, exchange of students, culture and knowledge," wrote Vucic.
Vucic stated that they also discussed United States' support for Serbia's progress on the path to full membership in the EU.
