Telegraf's exclusive from Nadal's training session in Rome: Thousands watch Rafa, he had one problem
Nadal is preparing for the continuation of the competition in Rome
Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal held a training session ahead of the 2nd round of the Rome Masters, where his rival on Saturday will be Hubert Hurkacz!
Telegraf had an exclusive chance to attend Rafa's training, on Court 3 of the Foro Italico complex, and judging by the scenes from the Italian capital, the Spaniard got the "timing" wrong.
Namely, Nadal's training was scheduled to take place from 12:00 to 13:00, when the weather is the hottest, so it's not surprising that he and his entire team were looking for shade, which was almost non-existent. Except for that one corner where they found salvation.
What was notable is that the audience literally chanted "Rafa, Rafa, Rafa" once every five minutes, obviously happy that one of the best players in the sport's history is competing in Rome and that they can watch him.
Nadal himself hit the ball quite well, like in the old days, he is preparing physically for the effort and showed this to the crowd who were even climbing the fence to see him.
Speaking of the hot weather and the crowd, it is worth adding that Rafa's 1st round match on Thursday was interrupted when a fan got taken ill in the stands because of the high air temperature.
