Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated today that Chinese President Xi Jinping said that China would allow 300 young citizens from Serbia to study in that country, and that the Chinese President also proposed that 50 science workers from Serbia come to China.

"Three hundred young people who will be able to learn not only the Chinese language and learn a lot about Chinese culture, work ethics, but will also be able to serve as a bridge between our two countries," Vucic said during a joint press conference with President Xi in Belgrade today.

Commenting on the proposal of President Xi about 50 scientific workers from Serbia going to China, Vucic stated that this is extremely important.

"Do you know what that means for our science workers, the level of technological development that China has, for them to learn that? Because during today's meeting, President Xi particularly stressed the importance of cooperation in the field of innovation and proposed the formation of an intergovernmental technology committee," said Vucic.

He explained that such a committee is extremely important for Serbia and added that the delegations specifically discussed how to raise the level of cooperation regarding artificial intelligence and high technology.

"These are extremely important things for our country. And they speak to the friendship of the People's Republic of China, because of course we are far behind China and we will be able to learn a lot from them. On the other hand, we have talented young people, talented experts who can also to share some of their knowledge with the People's Republic of China," concluded Vucic.
