Yesterday, a public prosecutor from the Third Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade questioned 21-year-old L.C., who was arrested on suspicion of committing a serious criminal offense against public traffic.

He is suspected of hitting a 14-year-old girl with an electric bicycle. The accident happened on Saturday in Batajnica. The girl was admitted to the hospital with serious injuries.

The suspect fully confessed to the commission of the crime - that he was driving an electric bicycle on the specified day and that he hit the victim while she was at a pedestrian crossing, casing her to suffer severe, life-threatening injuries, as well as that he was under the influence of psychoactive substances - cannabis and amphetamines, it has been announced.

Bearing in mind that in the further course of the proceedings, it is necessary to examine witnesses - eyewitnesses to the events known to the defendant, which could result in him influencing those witnesses if he were to be released, at the proposal of the Third Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade, a Third Basic Belgrade Court judge ordered that the defendant be detained.
