Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic said that his delegation came to Brussels with constructive ideas that needed to be worked out, but that Pristina is only interested in its own agenda and that Belgrade does not want to participate in a dialogue in which Pristina pretends to be constructive.

In a statement to journalists in Brussels after a new round of negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina held on Thursday, Petkovic said that, before leaving for Brussels, they showed their proposals to representatives of the international community and that those were evaluated as constructive, but that representatives of Pristina broke the concept of everything and did not they want to reach an agreement, instead looking at things only from their own point of view.

"As if only they exist. If the idea is to find a compromise solution, that means we have to understand each other. And how are we going to do that if Pristina is constantly making unilateral moves, and then the Serbs are leaving (Kosovo and Metohija). Then we come to a point where Albin Kurti will say that there are no more Serbs, there are no more Serb institutions in Kosovo and there is no need for the Community of Serb Municipalities (ZSO). Is that the idea," said Petkovic.

He added that they will not agree to adialogue in which Pristina participates in order to pretend to have some kind of constructive approach, and that in those direct meetings in Brussels, there were ideas on the table that had to be worked out, to see what needs to be further improved on both sides so that it could become a compromise solution.

"And I have heard all kinds of things during all these years. We will fight for the rights of our people, for the dignity of their lives. We will try to do everything, to preserve peace and stability, because that is in our interest, that is our policy and above all, this is the only thing that can ensure future survival of our people in Kosovo and Metohija," said Petkovic.
