Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has told an extraordinary session of the Government of Serbia that he will on April 7 travel to Paris, where he will the following day have big and strategically important talks with President Emmanuel Macron.

"I have had almost 20 conversations with President Macron, 19 I think. This one will be the most important, it will be strategic, I think the French have prepared for it and we are preparing," Vucic told the government.

He added that Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali will go with him to Paris.

"Sinisa Mali will go, but we have prepared for various different topics. One is the defense industry and cooperation between our defense industries. And to you in the army, let me say this finally, since I know that there are also people thinking about who the suppliers, and who the buyers are. Serbia will not sell any of its factories to someone so that someone owns more than 50 percent or has a 50 percent share in the stocks," said the president added that the Serbian defense industry must grow three times.

"It must grow three times in the coming period. This year, our defense industry will produce the same or slightly more shells and missiles than France, of 122 to 155 millimeter caliber. Just so you know that we have our own strength, that we have our own capacities, only we have to triple and quadruple it," added Vucic.
