Belgrade mayor speaks with Chinese Shandong province delegation: Important projects "on the table"
The meeting discussed the upcoming continuation of the construction of an underground garage in Vlajkoviceva Street
The head of the Temporary Authority of the City of Belgrade, Aleksandar Sapic, met today with a delegation of the Chinese province of Shandong, led by Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office Lin Haibin.
The delegation included representatives of the company China Shandong, with which the City of Belgrade has signed a public-private partnership agreement for the construction of underground garages in our capital.
The guests from China invited Aleksandar Sapic to visit the capital of the province in October and be a guest of honor at a forum of local leaders from countries that cooperate with China.
The possible expansion of cooperation was also discussed with the delegation from Shandong, as Chinese investors are very interested in projects in Belgrade. Chinese companies are significant partners in large infrastructure projects throughout Serbia, which is the result of extremely high-quality relations between the two countries.
It was agreed in general to increase the number of mutual visits at the highest level, in order to identify areas of cooperation. In addition to infrastructure, projects in the fields of culture, education, sports and student exchange were highlighted.
The meeting discussed the upcoming continuation of the construction of an underground garage in Vlajkoviceva Street, which, as planned, will have 284 parking spaces. In accordance with the contract on public-private partnership, the Chinese investment amounts to about 7 million euros, so the money will not be allocated from the city budget.
This is one of the four underground garages planned to be built in Belgrade by the Chinese investor, which will greatly reduce the problem of parking in the city center.
