30-year-old V.J. was wounded last night in a shooting at a toll booth near Presevo. She was urgently transported to the hospital in Nis and underwent surgery, Telegraf.rs has learned.
V.J. was brought to the University Clinical Center (UKC) Nis half an hour after midnight with firearms wounds, accompanied by an ambulance crew from Vranje.
"After the examination, primary care and radiological and laboratory diagnostics, injuries to the trachea, neck vertebrae and air inclusion in the chest cavity, as well as a contusion injury to the lung on the left side, have been diagnosed. The patient was immediately treated surgically in the Emergency Center, after which she was hospitalized at the Intensive Care Clinic of the UKC Nis," this institution said.
A 52-year-old man who shot her is a Macedonian citizen of Albanian ethnicity, originally from Tetovo.
Telegraf has learned that the Macedonian citizen first shot and wounded the woman, and then shot himself.
He succumbed to his injuries, while the shooting was preceded by an argument. The motive for the attempted murder and suicide is unknown.
