The crime happened yesterday, the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Novi Sad confirmed for Telegraf.
The crime took place in Backo Gradicte near Becej.
According to initial information, the suspect murdered the woman using a knife.
The two were visiting relatives.
The suspect is now in police detention that lasts up to 48 hours.
