Novak Djokovic reacts after Laureus award nomination: He posts only two sentences
The Serbian tennis player could for the fifth time win the award intended for the best athlete of the year
The well-known Laureus event is coming up, that will present an award to the athlete chosen as the best in the world in the year that is behind us. Among the nominees is the best tennis player in the world, Novak Djokovic, who is one of the favorites to receive this flattering recognition.
Djokovic has already won the Laureus award four times, and if he wins another, he would equal Roger Federer and overtake Usain Bolt, who has received it four times.
Apart from Djokovic, the nominees include Erling Haaland, Armand Duplantis, Noah Lyles, Max Verstappen, and Leo Messi.
It didn't take long for Novak to react regarding the nomination.
"It’s an honor to be nominated for Laureus Sport 2024 World Sportsman of the Year," Novak posted on X, before adding that it is a "special group to be a part of" and tagging the other nominees.
