Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic addressed the public together with Chinese Ambassador Li Ming today. Vucic hosted a ceremony for the Chinese ambassador and his associates in Vila Mir in Belgrade, on the occasion of the Chinese New Year.

"We are convinced that your country will start the path of progress in this New Lunar Year as well," Vucic said at the beginning, adding:

"The recently signed agreement on free trade is extremely important for the continuation of our cooperation," the president said and thanked China for supporting our country's territorial integrity.

Vucic said that he wants to publicly announce that he has received confirmation that Chinese President Xi Jinping will visit Serbia.

"He is our sincere friend whom we want to welcome in the best way. We will do our best to make sure our Chinese friends are happy with Serbian hospitality. Thank you for everything. We are a small country, but you will always have that voice in favor respecting the rules and international public law from us. Once again, welcome and happy New Year," said Vucic.

Li Ming said that they were very touched that President Vucic organized a high-level reception for them on the occasion of the Chinese New Year - the Year of the Dragon.

"You show friendship toward the Chinese people and show love for the Chinese culture. This is a great incentive for us. This has a special significance for us," said Li Ming.

At the end of the reception, the Chinese embassy diplomats performed the song, "This is Serbia."
