Waterspout on Montenegrin Adriatic coast: "Water tornado" threatened this town
The coastal area of the Adriatic Sea was flooded by several meter-high tidal waves
Most of Montenegro was hit by very heavy rains and strong thunderstorms during the weekend. Precipitation was most intense in the southern regions, especially on the coast, where a stormy southerly wind blew with gusts of up to 100 km/h.

The storm raised multi-meter waves, which flooded the coastal areas.
At the same time, a waterspout was filmed on the Adriatic Sea near the town of Ulcinj. This is a type of tornado above the water surface.
The atmospheric conditions were more than unstable, and therefore ideal for the emergence of this natural phenomenon.
Fortunately, the waterspout stayed above the sea and did not move toward land, so there was no material damage.
This phenomenon is normal for the Adriatic Sea and can occur at any point during the year, not only on the Montenegrin coast, but also more often in Croatia.
Today, the weather has stabilized throughout Montenegro, so the following days are expected to be mostly dry, sunny and warm in the south, with temperatures on the coast ranging from 16 to 18°C.
