The number of legends who came to see off Dejan "Deki" Milojevic best speaks to how great he was
Legendary Serbian basketball player and coach Dejan Milojevic was today laid to rest at the Bezanija Cemetery in Belgrade, and the number of people who came to see him off to his eternal rest speaks to how great he was.
The biggest names from our basketball world arrived at the cemetery, where a memorial church service and then the funeral of Milojevic, who left us way too soon, took place.
Family, friends, representatives of the clubs where he played and coached, and all admirers of the once Serbian national team member were at the cemetery to pay their respects to Deki.
Golden State coach Steve Kerr was among them, which best shows how great Milojevic was. Also present are Zeljko Obradovic, Zarko Rebraca, Novica ZVelickovic, Zarko Cabarkapa, Branko Lazic, Luka Mitrovic, Ratko Varda, Slavko Vranes, Sasa Pavlovic...
Milojevic died of a heart attack he suffered while in Salt Lake City.
Milojevic's body was repatriated on February 7, and after the tragic news of his passing arrived, his former clubs - Partizan, Golden State, Buducnost and Beovuk - all organized homages to him during their games.
