Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reacts to Ukraine's social media attack on actor Milos Bikovic
The Republic of Serbia has the heritage of a long tradition of cultural creativity, and we are very proud of the constitutionally guaranteed right to free scientific and artistic creativity, it said
Regarding a post on X by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on January 24, in reaction to the news that one of the best known Serbian actors, Milos Bikovic, will star in the new season of the globally popular TV series "The White Lotus" - in which post the Ukrainian side claims that Bikovic is "a person who supports genocide and violates international law" - the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the claims are completely unfounded.
The Republic of Serbia has the heritage of a long tradition of cultural creativity, and we are very proud of the constitutionally guaranteed right to free scientific and artistic creativity, it said.
"We underline that the claims made by the Ukrainian side are unfounded, since Milos Bikovic is first of all one of the most popular and talented Serbian actors of his generation, who, although young, has already left his mark in Serbian and international cinematography. We would like to remind you that Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic presented Milos Bikovic with a charter on the Day of Serbian Diplomacy in 2019 for his exceptional personal contribution to the promotion of Serbia and its rich cultural creativity abroad," said the statement.
