In 15 days, more than 650,000 citizens left Kosovo and Metohija: Most go to these two countries
On average, about 250 buses bound for western countries cross the Merdare and Bela Zemlja administrative crossings
According to official police data of so-called Kosovo, in the first 15 days of January, 650,000 citizens, mostly under the age of 35, left Kosovo and Metohija.
They stated that 511,604 passengers left Kosovo and Metohija by land and 155,816 via the Slatina airport.
"Based on daily reports, 511,604 people left Kosovo by land, which is a 10.2% increase compared to the previous year (463,178)," the police said.
"In the same period, 155,816 passengers traveled to various destinations via Slatina Airport near Kosovo Polje, which is a 13.2% increase compared to 2023."
According to official police data, an average of about 250 buses cross the administrative crossings of Merdare and Bela Zemlja from Kosovo and Metohija on their way to Western countries, mainly Austria and Germany.
