By early afternoon, 30 out of 130 animals had been transferred to the river's bank using a Vojvodinasume ferry.
Since the early morning, crews from this public company and the Serbian Army soldiers have been on the ground, examining the possibile way to approach the island, i.e. to evacuate the animals.
The horses and cows got trapped on Krcedinska Ada while grazing. Namely, the rising Danube suddenly surrounded them on all sides.
Those with knowledge of the situation say that the poor animals had been there for days and starting to starve, since they no longer had access to any food.
