Man shot security guard in Skadarlija restaurant, hid for 11 days: Video of his arrest at Croatian border
The police arrested the suspect while he was trying to illegally cross the state border from Serbia to Croatia
Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Criminal Police Directorate of the Belgrade police, in cooperation with the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade, have arrested G.DJ. (31).
G.DJ. is being held under suspicion of committing grave attempted murder and illegal production, possession, carrying, and trafficking in arms and explosives.
G.DJ. is suspected of firing several shots at a 43-year-old man and inflicting serious, life-threatening injuries to him on December 3, in a restaurant in Belgrade's Skadarska Street (also known as the city's Skadarlija District).
The police arrested the suspect while he was trying to illegally cross the state border from Serbia to Croatia.
According to an order issued by the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade, he is being detained for up to 48 hours and will after that be brought before the prosecutor's office along with a criminal complaint.
Quarrel
The attempted murder was preceded by a quarrel.
"The suspect was with friends, there were four more of them at the table, they were drinking all the time, they were loud, noisy... aggressive, they behaved as if 'the tavern was theirs', they heckled the musicians, asked for drinks to be brought to them although they were told in advance that the restaurant was closing soon and that it was the last round.
They were told again after some time that the establishment was no longer open, but did not want to leave. Security warned them several times. The suspect then stood up and started an argument with Dalibor (the victim, a security guard), threatening him. Dalibor again told him to leave the restaurant, however, the suspect took out a gun and shot at him. The group ran away immediately," our website has been told.
Dalibor K. was urgently hospitalized having been shot three times in the stomach and arm. He is in a stable condition.
Dalibor K. is a citizen of Montenegro.
