Minister of Internal Affairs Bratislav Gasic today visited the fully renovated building of the police outpost in Subotica and said that the Ministry of Internal Affairs will continue to invest in equipment so that police officers have the best possible working conditions.

"With modernization and better working conditions in this police outpost, which had not been invested in before, police officers will perform their tasks even more efficiently. This will also ensure the safety of citizens, while the services provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) will be timely and even better," said Minister Gasic.

During the visit, the minister, together with the assistant director of the police, General Dejan Lukovic, spoke with the leadership of the Subotica Police Administration (in northern Serbia) about the situation regarding irregular migrants and the increased activities of the police in combating people smuggling.

Gasic also stressed that the safety of citizens comes first and that the police will carry out decisive activities to suppress irregular migration and people smuggling until this security problem has been solved.
