Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Goran Vesic and his Macedonian colleague Blagoj Bocvarski today signed a memorandum regarding the construction of a high-speed railway from Nis to Skopje.
The signing took place in the Serbian Government building in Belgrade, while the two countries will jointly request funds for the project from the European Union.
Vesic previously said that the railway will be modernized and electrified, adapted to speeds of 120 kilometers per hour.
He said that the design of the Nis-Presevo section, 135 kilometers long, is underway, and that the North Macedonian partners will design about 50 kilometers from the border to Skopje.
