Arrests after Zemun explosion: Home owner dead, two daughters injured in suspected case of grave negligence
According to Serbia's Criminal Code, they face a prison sentence of 2 to 12 years
On the order of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade, the police arrested Aleksandar R. and Lazar D., responsible persons at the OZA PE d.o.o. company, which is carrying out construction works in Marko Oreskovica Street in Zemun, Belgrade - where an explosion occurred earlier in the day on Friday, when Stevo Ljiljak lost his life, and his two daughter received injured.
Unofficial information says that the police and the prosecutor's office acted to detain seven more workers of this company - K.K, R.V, G.V, N.T, M.DJ, Z.G. and M.S - on suspicion of involvement of committing the crime of serious offense against general security.
According to Serbia's Criminal Code, they face a prison sentence of 2 to 12 years.
Stevo Ljiljak was killed in the explosion early on Friday, and his daughters Biljana and Branka received injured.
As Telegraf previously reported in Serbian, Biljana managed to get out of the house and inform the firefighters that her father was stranded in the demolished home.
His body was recovered five hours later.
By order of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade, the victim's body was sent for an autopsy.
