Brnabic meets with head of diplomacy of Azerbaijan: Relations at highest historical level
She said that the good and substantive relations between the two countries should be further extended to other areas of cooperation
Prime Minister Ana Brnabic has met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov.
Prime Minister Brnabic pointed out that the overall relations between Serbia and Azerbaijan are at the highest historical level, which is best evidenced by the two presidential visits realized last year, just one month apart.
The prime minister expressed her gratitude for Azerbaijan's support in preserving the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia, the Government of Serbia announced.
Brnabic said that the good and substantial relations between the two countries should be further extended to other areas of cooperation, among which is certainly cooperation in areas such as energy, economy, agriculture, as well as the pharmaceutical industry and biotechnology.
Minister Bayramov expressed Azerbaijan's firm and principled position when it comes to supporting Serbia's efforts in preserving sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He said that the support of Azerbaijan in international organizations will continue unconditionally, which is best demonstrated by the example of voting against the decision to start the procedure for considering the membership of so-called "Kosovo" in the Council of Europe.
The minister noted that, since his last visit to Belgrade a few years ago, Serbia's economic progress is even more visible, and expressed his belief that economic relations between the two countries will be significantly improved as part of the further development of the strategic partnership.
The prime minister warmly thanked Azerbaijan for its support to Serbia's bid to host the EXPO 2027, and invited Azerbaijan to take part in this prestigious event.
