Defense Minister Milos Vucevic said today that it is significant that Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabic, at the UN Security Council session, informed the world public and that body about the real situation in Kosovo and Metohija.

Vucevic told TV Prva that it was significant that Serbia "made use" of the UN Security Council meting to inform the world and representatives of the most important countries about the facts regarding the situation in Kosovo and Metohija.

He added that Brnabic explained precisely what is happening on the ground in that area and that the key message from her speech is that there is a campaign of silent ethnic cleansing of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija.

Vucevic stated that everything that was heard after the session of the UN Security Council was expected and that it could be expected that no country would dramatically change its position on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija.

"States that have recognized so-called independence of Kosovo or those that do not recognize it and respect international public law, could have been expected to stand by their position," he said.

He added that it was good that Brnabic had the opportunity to present all the facts, and added that he did not think that it would change anything significantly, but that that this does not mean that we should not fight and talk about it.

"We have to take advantage of every opportunity and no one should have the impression of disappointment because after the prime minister's speech, some superpower did not change its position on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija," he said.
