He stressed that China firmly supports Serbia in preserving its national sovereignty and territorial integrity
Chinese President Xi Jinping said after his meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic that Serbia is a "steely friend" to China, and that bilateral relations have withstood the changes in the international landscape in recent years and are an example of how China's friendly relations with European countries should look like.
He stressed that China firmly supports Serbia in preserving its national sovereignty and territorial integrity and that his country is ready to continue to strengthen strategic synergy with Serbia in order to translate the traditional friendship between the two countries into more fruitful practical cooperation, Xinhua reported, according to CCTV.
"Bilateral cooperation in areas such as infrastructure and manufacturing capacity has yielded fruitful results, and the depth, breadth, quality and efficiency of practical cooperation are continuously improving," Xi said after meeting with Vucic, who is in Beijing for the third Belt and Road Forum.
According to Xi, the two sides, faced with the profound changes in the world that have not been seen in a century, should look at bilateral relations from a strategic and long-term perspective and firmly support each other's essential interests and development paths.
