A septic tank was allegedly emptied overnight into the Adriatic Sea in Tisno, Croatia.

Everything reportedly took place near a fenced water polo pool, where about 30 children train twice a day, writes Jutarnji List.

According to the website's visitors, the fecal drain from one of the nearby houses is connected to the waste water drainage system, and that shaft and outlet to the sea are only one meter away from the playground.

"Witnesses of that event were the many people who were taking a walk on the waterfront, who stopped at that place and watched what was happening," says Jutarnji's interlocutor.

"Feces are floating on the surface of the sea, and my information says that several people who swam near the playground have developed high fever and digestive disorders. For the purpose of protecting public health, and especially the children who train hard in Tisno, I ask the authorities to check who is emptying septic tanks into the sea and to do everything to prevent such a situation from happening again," said a source, who also made an appeal to test the quality of water in that location, because a large number of people swim there.

"After all, the municipality has fixed the beaches at the big and small port", says the Jutarnji reader, who addressed the Municipality of Tisno and the municipal police, the Croatian Institute of Public Health, the Institute of Public Health of the Sibenik-Knin County, the State Inspectorate, as well as the Institute for Oceanography and Fisheries in Split.
