Vucic: It is important that the war in Ukraine be stopped as soon as possible

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said last night that it is important to stop the war in Ukraine as soon as possible, because both sides are exhausted, and that he believes that stopping the war will also be the policy of US President Joseph Biden.
The president of Serbia said last night on TV Happy that many thought that Russia would defeat Ukraine faster and end the story, but that is not so, that there is no easy end, adding that he thinks it is best to make a truce.
"It is clear that is not happening, there is no easy end, a war of attrition is being waged, despite all the strength of the West, Russia will not be defeated in the battlefield. I am not sure that Russia will win, either, especially I am not sure what it can gain politically and that is why I think it is best to make a truce," said Vucic.
He added that he saw that there was some kind of Saudi initiative and that the Russians avoided it, now he sees new ones coming from other Arab countries, "and I hope that something will bring us closer and that is also in the interest of US President Joseph Biden."
"I think it is in the interest of Biden, who wants a second term, if he managed to participate in stopping the war, everyone would say - hats off. The economy would flourish at that speed, everything would be different, wages and pensions would grow faster here as well, prices of energy products would fall," added the president of Serbia.
He said that Biden knows that the issue of the economy and elections is crucial for the US.
He added that he does not believe that US citizens long for war, because he thinks that they are interested in the economy and living better.
If the war continues, Vucic added, there will be no economic progress and pointed out that he believes this will be President Biden's policy - to participate in stopping the war.
"Russia is exhausted, not to mention Ukraine, people say look at the economy, well look at it. Look how much the ruble has lost in value in the last year, although again, to be honest, the Russian economy is holding up better than anyone expected. It's obvious that they were prepared," he added.
He said that Ukraine will need decades to recover from the war and stressed once again that it is important to stop everything as soon as possible, because it will be easier and better for everyone.
