Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Milos Vucevic started his visit to Egypt with a meeting with Minister of Defense General Mohamed Ahmed Zaki.

After a ceremonial welcome, that included Egyptian Army Guards and the sounding of national anthems, the two ministers met in the presence of the delegations they lead.

With expressions of gratitude for the hospitality, Minister Vucevic assessed that this visit is another confirmation of the good cooperation between Serbia and Egypt and the two defense ministries, and expressed determination toward further development and improvement of relations in the fields of military-technical, military-educational and military-military cooperation.

It was pointed out that cooperation between Serbia and Egypt is on an upward trajectory, which was contributed to by the meeting between Serbian and Egyptian presidents, Aleksandar Vucic and Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in Serbia last year.

Minister Vucevic stressed that Serbia's long-term strategic commitment is to maintain the status of a militarily neutral state, without membership in any of the existing military-political organizations. At the same time, Minister Vucevic pointed out, this does not mean the absence of the will to improve cooperation with all relevant actors in the field of international relations, especially security and defense.
