Djokovic shares clip of Mitrovic talking how he wanted to fight because of him, here's what he told footballer
Support for probably the best tennis player in history is always pleasant
Compared with the size of the country, Serbian sport from year to year remains at a high level when it comes to successes and competes with on paper much stronger "powers." What is typical is that our athletes stick together in all situations and support each other, which gives them more strength and helps in achieving many things.
Thus, footballer Aleksandar Mitrovic, speaking on the podcast of well-known Serbian sports journalist Aleksandar Stojanovic, shared how he once almost got in a fight with his teammates at Fulham because of Novak Djokovic.
"I was in England. I was rooting for Djokovic... Well I wanted to start fighting! I've been on the verge of it a few times. I remember a Wimbledon final, when he played against Federer. It was a mess, out of 30 players and the coaching staff, only me and the Spanish goalkeeper were supporting Novak, and the 28 of them Federer," Mitrovic said, among other things, and then the response came a few days later from probably the best tennis player in history.
On his Instagram account, Nole shared this clip from the video, and captioned it with the words, "Thank you brother."
Clearly, this type of support meant a lot to Djokovic before the US tour and tournaments in Cincinnati and New York. How could it not, when it comes from one of the best Serbian footballers and the record holder for the number of goals scored while playing for the Serbian national team.
