Minister of Internal Affairs of Serbia Bratislav Gasic posted words of support Instagram addressed at the Greek people and their Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who are currently fighting huge forest fires.

"We are always there for our brotherly Greek people," wrote Gasic.

He posted this on his Instagram account in response to a message from Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos, who said he was grateful for Serbia's support:

"I want to express our gratitude to Serbia and to the 38 Serbian firefighters who, along with 14 vehicles, are on the ground, helping us in the fight against forest fires. Serbia, we thank you!," Mitsotakis wrote.

Members of the Serbian Interior Ministry (MUP) Department for Emergency Situations from Nis, Kragujevac, Belgrade, Novi Sad, Jagodina and Pancevo - 36 firefighters and two members of a medical team, along with 14 vehicles - departed Nis for Greece earlier in the week to help their colleagues in that country fight wildfires.

Luka Causic, Acting Assistant Minister of Internal Affairs and Head of the Department for Emergency Situations was there to see them off.
