Certain locations in Novi Sad are still closed to visitors as the consequences of the storm that hit the capital of the Vojvodina province on Wednesday and Friday are being repaired.

Thus parks in Novi Sad are off limits, because the storms broke a large number of trees. For the same reason, the Strand beach on the Danube is still closed. The city utility company Zelenilo appealed on residents of Novi Sad not to enter parks on their own, which are cordoned off with danger tapes, writes 021.rs.

"I am asking them for patience. The number of trees that were broken in the storm is huge, and our teams are making superhuman efforts to remove all the consequences of the storm in the shortest possible time", said the director of Zelenilo, Milos Egic.

Novi Sad cemeteries, which suffered significant damage, are also closed to visitors. Repairs are in progress there as well, uprooted and broken trees, broken branches are being removed, roads and paths cleared, as well as approaches to cemeteries.

"Given that the number of broken trees and branches that pose a danger is large, we ask citizens to, for the sake of their personal safety, refrain from the usual visits to cemeteries, until our services repair all the consequences of the recent weather," they said at Lisje.

Even the Petrovaradin Fortress did not escape devastation, so the authorities are appealing on citizens to reduce walks and tours of this Novi Sad landmark until the damage is taken care of. Citizens were also urged to respect the cordoned off areas around the buildings and stay out of there.
