President Vucic reveals what he said to US ambassador at reception marking US national holiday
The president of Serbia attended a reception at the US embassy last night
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic attended a reception at the residence of the US ambassador to Serbia, Christopher Hill, on the occasion of the US national holiday, Independence Day.
"I congratulated the US embassy on Independence Day and pointed out that it is the right occasion for all of us to remember the universal values woven into the (US) Declaration of Independence, which refer to the equality of all people and their inalienable rights to life and freedom," President Vucic said on Instagram.
The president stressed that these rights are today denied to our fellow Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija and that he used this opportunity "to ask the US to use its undoubted authority in order to enable our people in Kosovo and Metohija to live a dignified and peaceful life."
"Serbia remains committed to peace, as well as strengthening the partnership with the US, convinced that our old historic alliance will gain new momentum in the years to come," Vucic said in his Instagram post.
