President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic spoke on the phone with Anthony Blinken, the US Secretary of State. As stated by Vucic on the buducnostsrbijeav Instagram profile, the state secretary insisted on calming down the situation in the north of Kosovo and Metohija and fully supported the European plan for de-escalation.

"I told him that Serbia behaves seriously and responsibly, but that the special forces of the Kosovo police are arresting Serbs completely arbitrarily every day and requested the release of all arrested Serbs. I also stressed that the resignations and immediate withdrawal of fake (Albanian) mayors, as well as of the special forces of the Kosovo police from buildings in the four (majority-Serb) municipalities in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, are of key importance for calming tensions," said Vucic.

The US Secretary of State congratulated Belgrade on winning the right to organizer EXPO 2027, beating, among other things, Minnesota, it was announced.
