The presence of members of KFOR was noticeable, Carabinieri and EULEX were also in the streets
Several thousand people were protesting today in Gracanica, a Serb enclave in Kosovo and Metohija, because of the recent arrests of their compatriots.
Three special police vehicles were parked in the yard of the police station before the start of the protest.
Residents of Gracanica gathered to protest against the arrest of Dragisa Milenkovic yesterday.
The Kosovo police previously announced that the main road in Gracanica will be blocked while the Serb protest lasts.
The presence of members of KFOR was noticeable, Carabinieri and EULEX were also in the streets.
Yesterday, Milenkovic (51) was arrested by special forces of the Kosovo police for alleged war crimes.
His wife Jadranka Milenkovic said yesterday that police inspectors said during the arrest that Milenkovic is suspected of war crimes against Albanians, whom he allegedly mistreated while working as a guard in a prison in Lipljan.
Because of the arrest of Milenkovic, a large number of people gathered in front of the police station in protest in Gracanica yesterday as well.
